‘Abdu’l-Bahá and the peace movement

When 'Abdu'l-Bahá visited the West, he encountered numerous organizations and leaders of the Peace movement in both Europe and the United States. This presentation will attempt to compare the discourse offered by 'Abdu'l-Bahá on issues such as the causes of war, the requirements for peace, world governance or the arms race, with that of those organizations and individuals with whom he came in contact. It will also attempt to show the way in which He pointed out the many incoherencies in the conceptual framework predominant within the peace movement and other progressive organizations.
