Research report: the effects of Bahá’í prayers on the moods of undergraduate university students

The researcher will share the findings of empirical research she conducted on the effect of daily sharing of Bahá’í prayers—one of the two components of a mood-boosting intervention—on the undergraduate university students in South Africa over a period of 6 and 7 sessions. Results showed significant mood improvement (up to 85.8%), high regard for prayers, a positive learning environment, an elevated sense of caring and deep thoughts. More study is needed, but the positive reaction of non-Bahá’í students indicates the potential for wider use of prayers in public educational settings.
