Fashion and spirituality: an examination of our relationship to clothing beyond consumption
'Abdu'l-Bahá writes, "industries have been reborn… even the details of human affairs, such as dress and personal effects… have been renewed." In the last decade, psychologists have found that clothing can serve as an extension of the self and a tool for increased well-being. Through this new lens, interest in clothing and fashion, often dismissed as trivial, takes on new meaning. This presentation will explore our relationships to clothing and utilize the principle of the independent investigation of reality as a tool to examine the fashion industry and engage with fashion in new ways.
